My Cartooning Course At Marlborough Summer School 2011
This year I’ll be teaching children/ teenagers how to draw cartoons at Marlborough Summer School. If this is something you or your child has a keen interest in, it’s best to book in now. Last year to slots filled up so quickly due to it’s popularity. The link is: http://www.mcsummerschool.org.uk/course.asp?course=346
The course fee is just £154.00 and it’s for a week. The courses actually run over two weeks from July 10th to July 23rd 2011. It’s best to get your booking in quickly because last year, it filled up pretty quick and some kids were unlucky to miss out.
Last years course was very successful. I taught the students the basics of drawing cartoons using objects such as shapes (a method that they all grasped very well), how to get a likeness when drawing someone, how to draw facial expressions etc. It was a lot of fun for the kids. In the end, they all went home with framed family cartoon portraits that they had created themselves, much to the delight of their parents/ carers.
It was all new to me last year as I really didn’t know what to expect. But it was still very successful anyway. Whereas, I know exactly what to expect this year, so I can build on 2010′s course to make it even more fun for my students this year. We had students come to us as far as Spain last year and they loved it! Book in now to avoid disappointment.
